My Story
I am a lifelong learner, and it is my goal to stay up to date with training methods and techniques. I use positive reinforcement in all my training sessions. I started my training business with basic skills and manners, and I continued to learn and grow as a person. I have earned other certifications which can be found on my credentials page, but I wanted to add more to my dog trainer's toolbox. I love working with dogs and really wanted to add more techniques and when I found B.A.T. I just had to learn more!

In 2023 between juggling my career and spending time with my own dogs, I managed to get my studies in to achieve CBATI-KA. With hours of practice to learn this technique and digging into studies with twenty-one courses. I requested to be tested and complete the essay.
This certification takes time and is a comprehensive program covering canine psychology, and behavior modification. As a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, I have been working with people and creating tailored and customized plans for complex cases.

As a CBATI-KA I empower the dog by giving them freedom to make safe choices, helping to build confidence and reduce reactivity. I have always had the desire to help people and dogs and now I can use B.A.T. set ups in sessions with you. I love how this gives the dogs safe opportunities to learn about triggers, like people, dogs and more. With B.A.T dogs can become more confident and social by learning they are safe, and they can make calm choices.

I understand that fear, stress and aggression are very real in dog's lives. There is help and I will work with you in set ups to help you. So often people forget how the environment plays a role in how a dog feels. A dog may not be comfortable. This can be inside the home and outdoors. Your dog has a voice and over the years, I have realized how often the dogs voice is not heard.

Behavior Adjustment Training is unique and that is what intrigued me to know more about the methods and techniques. This is for puppies to adult dogs. This is practical techniques that works to help dogs that are fearful, frustrated and could become aggressive. Over the years, I have learned to set the dog up for success. Being too close to something that is a trigger that will take the dog over their threshold.
As a positive reinforcement trainer, I am always looking at different areas when I am preparing for a set up. I do this because there needs to be space to work in. Space is valuable when helping a dog to overcome fears. When a dog has fears, they are going to have stress. This is why I teach guardians with hands on exercises so they can learn what to do, where set ups can work best for their dog. Since I don't have a brick and mortar building to work in my training set ups are outdoors. Most leash reactivity is outdoors. With Behavior Adjustment Training I am there with you

My story is about being the best I can be, to help people and dogs in Sheboygan County. I am happy to add this to my dog trainer's toolbox. I often think about what more would I like to add to my dog trainer's toolbox. But currently I am very happy to bring B.A.T. to Sheboygan County.
