A CBATI-KA is a professional specializing in Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT) a technique designed to help dogs feel safe and secure. I coach people as I am working with them and their dog. I had used BAT several years before I decided to take the leap and become certified. BAT does work for all dogs.

I feel it is best for people to understand how to work with their dog. This is why BAT set-ups help as we together with your dog. I work with you to understand your dog's specific needs and triggers. Dogs that are fearful do need space and time to overcome fear-based behaviors.

How To Get Started

• The Initial Consultation is 90 minutes, and I take in the history of your dog and what your concern is. Name, sex, breed, adopted or breeder, any past or current medical surgeries. The health of your dog does matter.

• How are you feeling about what is concerning to you.

• Then on that day, you get help with one set up to work on.

What is next is all the scheduled appointments. I come to your home to help you as you learn how to work with your dog. If it is a problem on walks, then we start BAT set-ups for walking in your area. On these walks I will be helping you to have a better understand of what to be looking for in your dog's body language.

Unlike traditional training, BAT helps dogs to make better choices. We will be together as you learn what to look for in your dog's body language. If your dog is sniffing and the trigger is in a distance that is great. If your dog lifts his head up to look at the trigger and the body is not stiff this is great too. BAT is a wonderful technique to help dogs overcome fears.

The equipment used in BAT set-ups are longlines, harness with both front and back attachments. I also use 6-foot leashes as you also learn to keep the leash loose as you walk your dog. The idea of using a longline is giving the dog more feeling of freedom from restriction while still being safe as they learn.

When you want to help change behavior a CBATI- KA has the knowledge and skills to help you and your dog. You can learn how to choose a safe environment as you are living daily with your dog. Learning in environments that are real-life set-ups.
