Reactive Rover 6 Week Class

Service Description

This is a six-week class that will start in April and end in October of each year. This will be held at my place in Sheboygan, WI. There is a maximum of two during each scheduled class. The first meeting is the time to come to my place and I will take in more information about you and your dog. Each class is estimated 1 hour each but could overlap. This first meeting you will fill in forms and payment is made if you have not paid online. We will go over the rules of the class. Plan to wear comfortable clothes and full shoes with a good sole. I do not allow painful aversive training tools in my classes. Prong, Choke or E Collars will not be used. There are better ways and less painful tools to be used. Each week you will be given exercises, foundation behaviors. Training tips to help you. You will learn about clickers and how to use them. Some dogs are fearful of clickers, and we will discuss the different types and how to even muffle the sound if you need too. I often use the "YES" one simple word, but you have to watch your emotions, the sound of your voice. I will set up distractions during the classes, so you get to practice. I will begin teaching you hand targeting one of my favorites and has many uses. Learning theory is any attention paid to a behavior is reinforcing. Just saying no or eye contact can be reinforcing. Heeling and stationing. Each week I will add in more each week. Teaching your dog to move in the opposite direction. There is much more added in too. Whistle training, Emergency Recall Cue, Emergency Relocation Cue. In the last class be ready for parallel walking, stationing, click to calm process. *** Note I operate without building; these classes will be held outdoors at my place. Bad weather such as rain could cause interruption on the schedule. But I always stay connected with my clients through the week.
